A small sliding toy with three double-sided discs that move into view as the rattle is rotated. It’s sleek and fits in baby’s hand with ease. Small new faces appear (including baby’s in a mirror disc) on one side and patterns appear on the other side as the toy is tipped and turned. It takes some doing to learn how to turn the toy and keep new images peeking through the opening. This looks more simplistic than it turns out to be. Take time to introduce it, demonstrating how to tip it and make it change. It’s an interesting toy for baby’s independent two-handed play; encourages baby to notice small changes with little lessons in cause and effect. Our fourteen-month old tester liked shaking it and making noises, too.
