Come celebrate the Mexican tradition of El Dia de Los Muertos, with this fun, handmade piece of art! A Women Skeleton carrying a Skull Basket made from clay.
Each year in early November the people of Mexico gather in their local cemeteries to honor dearly departed loved ones and to celebrate the continuity of life. Traditions surrounding this holiday vary from region to region, but in many homes "ofrendas," or temporary alters, are constructed to bear flowers, bread, fruit, candy and even tequila as offerings for the dead. Handmade skeleton figures called "calacas" are also popular, as they depict an active and joyful afterlife.
