With a balanced and smooth Japanese graphite core, Blackwing Pearl pencils are perfect for illustrators, UI/UX designers, and woodworkers. Use for a line that is softer than the Blackwing 602, but firmer than the Blackwing, and all without excessive sharpening. Blackwing Pearl pencils are made with the finest materials in the world, including Genuine Incense-cedar from California and premium Japanese graphite.
Some of the world’s most legendary Grammy, Emmy and Pulitzer and Academy Award winners have created with Blackwing pencils. The list of know users includes the likes of John Steinbeck to Chuck Jones who proudly used Blackwings to create Bugs Bunny and countless other Looney Tunes characters.
Its roots go back the 1930’s when it was first introduced by Eberhard Faber. In 1998, after several corporate acquisitions, it was discontinued, but not forgotten. In fact, fans began paying as much as $40 for a single Blackwing pencil on eBay. Recently brought back into production, these pencils are claimed by many to be the best utensil in the world, famous for the quality of graphite, iconic shape, replaceable eraser, and the men and women whose works they’ve inspired throughout the years.
