Prickly Pear Cactus Earrings

2 items left

Like most true cactus species, prickly pears are native only to the Americas. The edible fruit has various names: cactus fruit, cactus fig, Indian fig, or nopales or tuna in Spanish. If you eat the fruit, peel them and carefully remove the small sharp spines on the outer skin. For centuries the prickly pear cactus has been used both as a food source and a natural barbed wire fence that keeps in livestock.
